Fans watched the West Virginia Power and the Hagerstown Suns fight to the finish.

Hagerstown pitcher Nate Lloyd gave the Power all they could handle, but in the end, West Virginia left Municipal Stadium with a win, 2-1. Lloyd allowed 2 runs on 4 hits over 6.2 innings. West Virginia reliever Jose Diaz snagged the win, upping his record to 3-0. Nate Lloyd shouldered the loss. Shawn McMindes earned the save for West Virginia, his 2nd of the year.

The Power got a big at-bat from shortstop Jordan Carrillo. For the game, Carrillo was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave West Virginia a 2-0 lead.

"The old adage is true," said Carrillo. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
