Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Kannapolis Intimidators got the win.

Riding the 3-hit performance of the 21-year old right fielder Sandy Casarrubias, the Kannapolis Intimidators stopped the Delmarva Shorebirds, 4-2, in 9 innings. Dan Williams, the winner, is now 5-2. He struck out 5 and walked 1 over 7 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 10 hits. Ryan Bridges wrapped it up, recording his 7th save.

Kannapolis used the hitting of Casey Hudson to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Intimidators on top, 3-1. For the game, Hudson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I like what I saw today," said Kannapolis manager Brian Turek, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."

At 24-25, Kannapolis is in third place in the Northern Division.
