The Hagerstown Suns pasted the Charleston RiverDogs with a convincing 14-2 defeat at Municipal Stadium. Joey Boykin was a prime factor in the Hagerstown win. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Alvin Janosky. He tossed 109 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. The Suns now have a record of 23-26 with the win over Charleston.

With Hagerstown leading 6-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Boykin came up to bat against Charleston pitcher Chris Blasioli. Boykin hit a curveball to left for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Suns on top, 10-2.
