The rain did not keep Columbia and Lexington from finishing their game.

Led by 21-year-old Adrian Jones, the Columbia Fireflies downed the Lexington Legends, 9-4. Jones was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times for Columbia. Bill Comrie, the winner, improved to 3-3. He held the Legends to 4 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 0. Carlos Arevalo earned the save for Columbia.

In the top of the fifth with no one out, the Fireflies defense pulled a boner. With Columbia trailing 4-2, Jorge de la Rosa hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It could have been more costly, but the Fireflies were able to get the win.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said de la Rosa.

Columbia, at 22-27, sits in 5th place in the Southern Division.
