Mike Pond knocked in 5 runs to help Columbia beat Lexington, 8-2. The Lexington, Kentucky native tallied 3 singles and 1 home run. The first-place Fireflies lifted their record to 33-16.

Rogelio Silva was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Columbia. The 24-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the second.
