Petzoldt Goes Off, But Crawdads Win
Lakewood third baseman Dan Petzoldt pounded Hickory Crawdads pitchers at L.P. Frans Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the BlueClaws from falling, 15-5. Petzoldt slugged 3 home runs. The third-place Crawdads lifted their record to 30-20.

Dan McFadden had a big 2-run double for the Crawdads in the bottom of the third inning. With Hickory leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Mike Parmenter and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Crawdads ahead, 4-1.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," McFadden told the Hickory Times. "Whatever it takes."
