In a tight contest between the Delmarva Shorebirds and the Kannapolis Intimidators, Noah Politano was the determining factor. The Delmarva right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. Steve Oliver finished to wrap up his 2nd save. The loss makes Kannapolis 24-26.

The Intimidators had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Shorebirds going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old shortstop Evan Ervin came to the plate. Ervin hit a solo home run on a 3-1 sinker from Kannapolis hurler Jason Gilbert. It was Ervin's 2nd home run of the year.

"I'm happy we won," said Politano. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
