Shorebirds Pick Up 8-0 Win
The Delmarva Shorebirds picked up a win at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, dropping the Charleston RiverDogs, 8-0. Dave Benedict was the difference-maker. Their 25-25 record puts the Shorebirds 5th in the Northern Division.

Evan Ervin had a big 2-run triple for the Shorebirds in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Delmarva leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a splitter from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Zizak and swatted a triple to center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Shorebirds ahead, 4-0.

"Dave's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Delmarva manager Tom Phillips.
