Braves Get Past Asheville for 3-2 Win
|
Rome picked up a win at State Mutual Stadium, bumping off the Asheville Tourists, 3-2. Pitcher Jorge Chagoya was a major reason the Braves emerged victorious. William Hatcher, now 3-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The win lifted the Rome record to 29-21.
Had Joe DiSandro not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, DiSandro hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Braves.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Asheville manager Kyle Gehrs. "The effort was great."
