Shorebirds Send Charleston Home with 8-2 Loss
The Delmarva Shorebirds defeated the Charleston RiverDogs, 8-2, in South Atlantic League action at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Delmarva pitcher Josh Eliason had a standout performance. Eliason got the win, improving to 6-3. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Randy Dixon closed it out for Delmarva, earning his 1st save.

Brooke Rutherford, who is tied for 3rd in the SAL in doubles with 14, aided the Delmarva cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances.

"We didn't get the results that we wanted," said Charleston skipper Brandon Lacey.

Delmarva is now 26-25, while Charleston is 27-24.
