Rojas Slugs 2 Home Runs, Intimidators Beat Grasshoppers, 7-2
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 7-2, at CMC-NorthEast Stadium today. Leading the charge for Kannapolis was catcher Jonathan Rojas. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Aaron Wells, the winner, improved to 7-1. He held Greensboro to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while racking up 11 strikeouts. Kannapolis is sitting pretty at 35-16.
Rojas contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Kannapolis in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Rojas took a fastball from Henry Vielma and stroked the home run to left. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Intimidators to leap in front, 2-1.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Rojas told the Kannapolis Chronicle.
