Steven Floyd brought his A-game to help Kannapolis defeat the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 5-1. The winner was Floyd. He threw 8.1 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Dave Ellis. The Intimidators are now 25-27, while the Grasshoppers fall to 15-37.

Sandy Casarrubias, who is tied for 8th in the SAL in home runs with 7, took Greensboro hurler Dave Ellis deep in the bottom of the second. His 2-run home run put the Intimidators on top, 2-0. In all, Casarrubias had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"Steven was aggressive right out of the chute," said Kannapolis manager Brian Turek.
