The Rome Braves picked up a win at State Mutual Stadium, knocking off the Lexington Legends, 4-2. On the mound for Rome was right-hander Manny de Luna. He played a key role in the triumph. Manny de Luna, who is tied for 6th in the SAL in wins with 5, picked up the win in relief. Harry Evans took the loss for Lexington. With the win, Rome has a record of 23-30. Lexington falls to 35-18.

Mike Van Loenen had a big 2-run double for the Braves in the bottom of the third inning. With Rome leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Harry Evans and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Braves ahead, 3-0.

"Manny was dictating to their hitters," said Rome manager Tim Helfrich.
