Power Raise Rally Flag, Beat Hickory, 3-2
|
The Hickory Crawdads got a sterling performance from pitcher Alex Duenas, but the West Virginia Power still prevailed, 3-2. Duenas threw 7.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Ian Roth, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save. The Power lead the Northern Division by 5 games.
Brian Tabak came through with a big-time hit for West Virginia. The shortstop smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said West Virginia manager Jose Minera.
