The Delmarva Shorebirds went home winners at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Mike de la Cruz. de la Cruz stifled the Hickory Crawdads, enabling Delmarva to grab the 4-0 win. de la Cruz picked up the win for Delmarva, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. Josh Hunter notched his 4th save of the season.

The action was intense with one out in the top of the sixth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Hickory trailing 1-0, Mike de la Cruz had to face the 23-year old first baseman Kurt Devitt, who was hoping to turn the game around. It was not to be, as Devitt hit into a double play.

The Shorebirds win now puts them at 30-25.
