In a low-scoring clash between Greensboro and Charleston, pitcher Manny Custodio was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned praise for his performance in the 2-1 Grasshoppers win. Matt Thornton earned the save for Greensboro, his 1st. Greensboro, with the win, is 17-39.

Greensboro used a clutch at-bat from Juan Valenciana to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Grasshoppers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Manny was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Greensboro manager Josh Lex.
