Braves Lose to Drive in Walk-Off
|
The Greenville Drive picked up a win at Fluor Field at the West End, downing the Rome Braves, 4-3, in 10 innings. On the mound for Greenville was right-hander Clay Boudreau, who played a pivotal role in the win. Greenville pitcher Alex Hall got the win. He's now 2-0. Harry Bakken was tagged with the loss. With the win, Greenville raised its record to 29-28.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Greenville third baseman David Beason, facing Matt Bolte, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Drive the 4-3 win.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Joey Many.
