Linares, Columbia Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
In a tight affair between the Columbia Fireflies and the Asheville Tourists, pitcher Juan Linares was in the zone. The Columbia right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-0. Bert Reed earned the save, his 8th, for the Fireflies. Columbia is now 33-24.
Linares allowed no runs over 7.1 innings. He also racked up 9 strikeouts.
"Juan's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Mike Keeney, the Fireflies manager.
