NewBridge Bank Park was the site for South Atlantic League action featuring the Greensboro Grasshoppers and Hickory Crawdads.

The Hickory Crawdads had no problem beating the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 11-1, at NewBridge Bank Park. Mike Wells led the way. He was 3-5 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for Hickory. Robert Manzo went 8.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. The left-hander struck out 10 and walked 0. With the win, he ups his record to 6-3 this season.

In the first inning, Wells had a 2-run home run for Hickory. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Crawdads on top, 2-0.

"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Josh Lex.

After today's action, Hickory sits at 33-24; Greensboro slips to 18-39.
