Shorebirds Walk It Off for 24th Win of Season
The Delmarva Shorebirds weathered an outstanding game by Columbia first baseman Roy Renner to topple the Fireflies, 6-5. Renner went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Steve Oliver was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Jon Williams. With this game in the books, Delmarva is 24-35, Columbia 32-27.

Delmarva got a knockout punch from Amari Spencer. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"They had a good approach," Columbia skipper Tony Acosta said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."
