Lexington catcher Ron Palmieri had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Asheville Tourists, 6-5, in 11 innings. The win went to Rick Downhour in relief, making him now 2-3. Neung-uk Lee took the loss for Asheville. Lexington is now 27-32, Asheville 29-30.

Lexington needed the clutch hitting of Matt Pfeiffer to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Legends on top, 5-3. For the game, Pfeiffer had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"There's no quit in this team," said Legends manager Rich Freedland.
