Conditions were not ideal but West Virginia and Delmarva were able to put their game in the books.

With first baseman Bryan Gibson leading the charge, the West Virginia Power defeated the Delmarva Shorebirds, 3-2, at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Gibson went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. West Virginia pitcher Matthaus Martin got the win. He's now 2-4. Luis Jimenez was tagged with the loss. Leo Rico, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities.

Orlando Vega, the 22-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Vega contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put West Virginia up, 3-2.

"We're all smiles after that win," Gibson told the West Virginia Citizen.

The Power go to 9-51 with the win.
