The Rome Braves downed the Augusta GreenJackets, 6-0, at State Mutual Stadium. Starring for Rome was pitcher Melvin Delgado. In 7.2 innings, Delgado surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The win puts the Braves at 23-36, while the GreenJackets drop to 25-35.

Matthew Kucek had a big run-scoring triple for the Braves in the bottom of the sixth inning. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Braves ahead, 2-0.

"Melvin was dictating to their hitters," said Rome manager Tim Helfrich.
