Kirschner Shines in 9-3 Asheville Win
Thanks in large part to catcher Dave Kirschner, the Asheville Tourists beat the Charleston RiverDogs, 9-3. Kirschner was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Jason McCaleb notched his 1st save in 2 chances. The Tourists win now puts them at 39-21.

With Asheville leading 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Kirschner hit a splitter from Quincy Cunningham for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Tourists ahead, 8-2.

"Put the ball in play and good things will happen," said Kirschner.
