Power Lose Late, 2-1
|
Pitching was the name of the game for the Augusta GreenJackets and the West Virginia Power. Augusta won it, 2-1, in 13 innings. Augusta starter Danny Casas was in command. The win went to Bryan Schmidt in relief. His record improves to 5-0. Noah Cirbus took the loss. The GreenJackets raised their record to 27-35.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the 13th for Augusta. That's when Roberto Gutierrez hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Noah Cirbus to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"It's what good teams do, find a way to win," said Casas.
