Pitcher Alfredo Silva was sensational for the Kannapolis Intimidators in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Delmarva Shorebirds. Silva earned the win. Silva, the winner, moves to 3-2. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Tony Ponce De Leon, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

The Intimidators got a big at-bat from left fielder Scott Bennett. For the game, Bennett went 2-5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 15th double of the season gave Kannapolis a 1-0 lead.

"We did a lot of things right," said Bennett.

Kannapolis occupies second place in the Northern Division at 40-22.
