Kannapolis got a valiant performance from pitcher Eric Nowicki, but it wasn't enough to beat the Asheville Tourists. Asheville won the game, 1-0. Nowicki threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. With the win, the Tourists hiked their record to 38-25.

Jon LaBoube delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to win it for the Tourists. For the game, LaBoube drove in one run.

"Just glad I could help us get a win," said LaBoube.
