The Greenville Drive topped the Columbia Fireflies, 7-2, with youngster Armando Contreras playing a key role. Contreras was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Drive in the win. Tyler Mullins got the win, improving to 4-3. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 2 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The Drive raised their record to 24-39.

In the bottom of the fifth, Matt Stockman delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Greenville third baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Drive in front, 7-2.

"I liked the focus, I liked the effort," said Drive manager Joey Many.
