Lexington turned a good effort from starter Steve Barney into a win over the Delmarva Shorebirds at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The Legends won the game, 4-2. Barney, the winner, moves to 5-5. He threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. The save was credited to Ray Maier, his 12th.

The Legends got a big at-bat from designated hitter Danny Esquivel. For the game, Esquivel went 2-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Lexington a 2-0 lead.

Esquivel described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
