Ervin, GreenJackets Beat RiverDogs, 1-0
|
In a tightly-contested game between the Augusta GreenJackets and the Charleston RiverDogs, pitcher Eric Ervin was outstanding. The Augusta right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the SAL in complete games with 1, propelled his team's 1-0 win. Nick Nagy, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 9th save. The win elevated the GreenJackets to 39-31.
It was an impressive turn from the legendarily hard-working Ervin, who tallied 8 strikeouts in 7.1 innings while allowing just 3 hits. Ervin, who is tied for 9th in the SAL in strikeouts with 87, goes to 5-6 on the year with 87 strikeouts.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Ervin said.
