Power Take Tight Tilt
The Delmarva Shorebirds could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Adrian Scudder into a win. Instead, the West Virginia Power prevailed, 3-2. Scudder threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Ian Roth was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 9 save opportunities. The Power lead the Northern Division by 11½ games.

Steve Urich drove in one run for West Virginia. The 23-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Adrian Scudder. It was his 27th RBI of the season.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said West Virginia manager Jose Minera.
