Grasshoppers Fall Short at Delmarva, 1-0
|
Delmarva right-hander Jeremy Zerr helped his team edge Greensboro by the score of 1-0. Zerr kept the opposing lineup in check. Doug Walker, now 2-3, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. The Grasshoppers, at 9-61, have lost 6 in a row.
Travis Pesola was the walk-off hero for Delmarva. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Shorebirds pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Zerr said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
