Intimidators Suffer 8-3 Home Defeat
The Delmarva Shorebirds topped the Kannapolis Intimidators, 8-3, with shortstop Luis Acuna playing a big role. Acuna was 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Shorebirds in the win. Miguel Gonzalez got the win, improving to 3-2. He held the Intimidators to 1 run on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Delmarva bumps their record to 47-25 with the win.

Joe Brumley had a big 2-run home run for the Shorebirds in the top of the fourth inning. With Delmarva leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a slider from R.J. MacLean, who is tied for 10th in the SAL in strikeouts with 87, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Shorebirds on top, 3-0.

"Solid performance from our side," said Shorebirds manager Tom Phillips.
