Power Bridle Suns, 3-1
|
The West Virginia Power downed the Hagerstown Suns, 3-1, at Appalachian Power Park. Stellar pitching by Kyle Stevens had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the SAL with a 2.36 ERA, handcuffed his opponent all game. The winner in relief was Randy Owen. He is now 3-1. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. West Virginia sits in third place in the Northern Division at 40-32.
The Power got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Ryan Druck. For the game, Druck was 1-1 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave West Virginia a 3-1 lead.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Stevens. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
