Dickerson Slugs Braves to 8-6 Win
|
Matt Dickerson powered the Rome Braves to a win over the Lexington Legends. The final score was 8-6. The Rome catcher was a force to be reckoned with. He banged out 3 extra-base hits, including 2 home runs and 1 double. Rome reliever Manny Pardo picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Sergio Rojas was tagged with the loss. Antonio Telles closed the door for Rome, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Carlos Estrada helped out the Rome cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 2 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I had a good game," said Estrada. "Winning makes it even better."
The second-place Legends have lost 4 consecutive games.
