Braves Zap Grasshoppers, 5-1
|
Rome turned a good effort from starter Sean Foster into a win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers at State Mutual Stadium. The final score was 5-1. Foster picked up the win for Rome, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0. The save was credited to Harry Bakken, his 5th.
The Braves got a big at-bat from catcher David Raab. For the game, Raab was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Rome a 3-1 lead.
"Sean gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Rome skipper Tim Helfrich.
Rome is now 41-32, Greensboro 20-53.
