Greensboro Offense Jammed Up by Power
|
Adam Boettcher pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Greensboro Grasshoppers, despite Boettcher's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the West Virginia Power at Appalachian Power Park. Andy Montes earned the save for West Virginia, his 10th of the year. At 39-35, the Power claim 4th place in the Northern Division.
Dusty Medina had a big 2-run home run for the Power in the bottom of the third inning. With West Virginia leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Adam Boettcher, who is tied for 9th in the SAL in complete games with 2, and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 9th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Power ahead, 3-0.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Medina.
