Kannapolis second baseman Justin Roth had a good game, even if his team did not. The Intimidators dropped a 6-5 decision to West Virginia at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Roth went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. The 5th-place Power hiked their record to 39-35.

West Virginia used the timely hitting of Tim Schmahl to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Power on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Kannapolis manager Brian Turek.
