First Energy Park was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
Delmarva wasted a solid 6-inning effort from starting pitcher Juan Marquez, losing to Lakewood, 2-1, at First Energy Park. The winner in relief was Guillermo Guzman. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 5 innings. He now owns a record of 2-2. Bill Klasing, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.
Lakewood took a 2-1 lead on Brandon Roberts's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Roberts hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Delmarva pitcher Jaime Lipscomb visibly frustrated.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the BlueClaws," said Roberts.
Lakewood now sits at 19-55, while Delmarva falls to 47-27.
