Grasshoppers Beat BlueClaws, 4-3
|
The Greensboro Grasshoppers topped the Lakewood BlueClaws, 4-3, in South Atlantic League action at NewBridge Bank Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Greensboro pitcher Melvin Vasquez. With the win, the Grasshoppers improved to 10-65.
The Grasshoppers got a big hit from catcher Angelo Rivas. In the bottom of the fifth, Rivas pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 1st home run of the season put the Grasshoppers ahead, 4-2.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Lakewood manager Xavier Turner, "let me know."
