Tourists Trip RiverDogs, 5-2
|
The Asheville Tourists defeated the Charleston RiverDogs, 5-2, at McCormick Field. Chase Brown was one of the standouts for Asheville. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 triple -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 3 he knocked in. Kenny Kennedy collected save number 6. Asheville has a record of 46-29, placing them first in the Southern Division.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Brown hit a bases-clearing triple off Dale Harris. It propelled the Tourists into the lead, 5-2.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Brown.
