Grasshoppers Rally to Win
The West Virginia Power wasted an inspired, 5-inning effort from starter Terry Bacon, falling, 2-0, to the Greensboro Grasshoppers at Appalachian Power Park. Victor Casas, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Victor Calderon picked up the save for Greensboro, his 5th of the year.

Carlos Fuentes came through with a big-time hit for Greensboro. The shortstop smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Fuentes.

The Grasshoppers are now 21-55.
