Delmarva Shorebirds starter Donte Reed was in midseason form, as he helped his team beat the West Virginia Power, 2-1. Delmarva pitcher Edwin Franco got the win, upping his record to 5-4. Ian Roth got the loss. The Shorebirds now own a record of 33-45.

Delmarva took a 2-1 lead on Rocky Hall's 10th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Hall hit in the bottom of the eighth, left West Virginia pitcher Ian Roth visibly frustrated.

"Tough loss," said West Virginia manager Jose Minera. "This one will sting for a while."
