The Kannapolis Intimidators knocked off the Delmarva Shorebirds, 3-0, in South Atlantic League action at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Kannapolis pitcher and Toronto, Canada, native Ian Cross had an outstanding performance. The winning pitcher was Cross, now 3-4. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 6. Alex Barriento collected his 3rd save.

Making an impact for the home team was Willie Esquivel. In the bottom of the third, the 23-year old right fielder had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 2-0, Intimidators.

"Ian -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Intimidators manager Brian Turek. "He was the key to us winning."

Kannapolis, at 47-32, sits in second place in the Northern Division.
