Grasshoppers Sneak By Crawdads, 3-2

The Greensboro Grasshoppers had to overcome a good performance from Hickory pitcher Eric Perkins to claim a 3-2 win at NewBridge Bank Park. Perkins went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Matt Stringfellow picked up the win in relief for Greensboro, while Roberto Pena took the loss. The Grasshoppers now have a mark of 14-65.
The Grasshoppers were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when center fielder Butch Aleman turned a 0-2 changeup from Agustin Contreras into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Greensboro a thrilling 3-2 win.
Aleman attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
