Losing Streak Continues for RiverDogs with 2-0 Loss to Tourists
|
Asheville Tourists starter Chris Perigo found his groove in his team's 2-0 win over the Charleston RiverDogs. Perigo, the winner, moves to 6-7. He threw 5.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Earning his 4th save for Asheville was Neung-uk Lee.
The Tourists got a big at-bat from second baseman Rich Evens. For the game, Evens went 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 12th double of the season gave Asheville a 2-0 lead.
"Chris was hitting his spots," said Asheville manager Jarrod Dryman. "It's hard to pitch better than that."
Asheville's record now stands at 37-44, placing them 4th in the Southern Division.
