Power Suffer 7-5 Setback
The Asheville Tourists faced a tough opponent in West Virginia pitcher Sean Branchini, but did just enough to pull out the victory at McCormick Field by a final score of 7-5. Branchini went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Asheville reliever Randy Arey was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Ivan Guardado. Chris Stevens got credit for the save for Asheville. It was his 9th of the year.

Asheville took a 6-5 lead on John Mitchell's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off West Virginia pitcher Ivan Guardado in the bottom of the seventh.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Mitchell told a Asheville Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

Asheville is now 32-49.
