Kannapolis Triumphs with Late Surge
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators reigned over the Hagerstown Suns in damp conditions.
The Kannapolis Intimidators beat the Hagerstown Suns, 5-3, at Municipal Stadium. The win was due in part to designated hitter Nick Ritchie, who went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The third-place Intimidators are now 49-36, the Suns 50-35.
Ritchie had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-0 fastball from Billy Nichols, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Intimidators a 5-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Ritchie.
"I really like what we did out there today," Ritchie said after the game.
