Grasshoppers Slap 5-3 Loss on Delmarva
|
Javier Vega propelled his team to victory over the Delmarva Shorebirds. The final score was 5-3, Greensboro. Danny Ruiz earned the save for Greensboro. Greensboro is now 26-60. Delmarva is 48-38.
Darius Strange had a big 3-run home run for the Grasshoppers in the bottom of the third inning. With Greensboro trailing 3-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a curveball from 20-year old left-handed pitcher Addy Hoogkamp and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Grasshoppers on top, 4-3.
"Nice to get this one," said Strange. "We've been scuffling."
