Tourists Earn 6-4 Home Win
|
No one was more impactful than John Willis in the 6-4 Asheville win over Lexington. Willis went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ross Smolnik, the winning pitcher, is now 5-6. He went 5 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 1. The Tourists improved their record to 54-34 by beating Lexington.
Second Baseman Andy Gash made an impact for Asheville, when he swatted a 2-run home run off Harry Evans in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Gash was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
