Tourists Lose 6-5 Decision to Rome
The Rome Braves picked up a win at State Mutual Stadium, knocking off the Asheville Tourists, 6-5. Starting pitcher Melvin Delgado played a key role in the triumph. The winner in relief was Bob Garza. He is now 3-5. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 2 innings. The 5th-place Braves improved to 41-47.

Matthew Kucek hit a 2-run home run off Brad Shealy in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Braves ahead, 6-4. In addition to the homer, Kucek had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
