The West Virginia Power extended their winning streak.

The West Virginia Power handed the Greensboro Grasshoppers a sound defeat, 11-2, at NewBridge Bank Park. Chris Hayes, who is tied for 7th in the SAL in doubles with 22, was a main contributor to the win. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5 for West Virginia. Ben Adame earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 5 innings. He upped his record to 12-4.

Hayes contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for West Virginia in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Hayes took a circle change from Jason Hawkins and stroked the double to right. His 22nd double of the season allowed the Power to leap in front, 3-1.

Greensboro manager Ryan Parkins said: "You try to find positives. We have to regroup and put this game behind us."

The Power have now won 6 straight.
