The Lexington Legends defeated the Hickory Crawdads, 8-2, at L.P. Frans Stadium. Lexington was led by 21-year old second baseman Tony Cuevas, who was 2 for 2 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. At 48-42, Lexington is in second place in the Southern Division.
Jake Howard aided the Lexington cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman was 1-2 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Cuevas told the Lexington Herald.
