The Lakewood BlueClaws picked up a win at First Energy Park, knocking off the Hagerstown Suns, 5-2. Starting pitcher Josh Thompson was a big reason why. After today's action, Lakewood sits at 35-55; Hagerstown slips to 53-37.

Though he didn't earn the victory, Thompson kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Lakewood offense came through. Over 7 innings, he allowed 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 11.

"I just made my pitches," said Thompson, "and the ball kept missing the bat."
